Plasma Lipids Before and After Oopherectomy and the Effect of Estrogen Replacement Therapy Plasma lipids and lipoproteins were measured in a group of 83 premenopausal women who would undergo hysterectomy and sal-pingooopherectomy. The weeks after the surgery, mean plasma triglycerid levels were found 78-113 percent increased (p<0.05) whereas elevation of mean plasma total cholesterol, LDL-c and VLDL-c levels weren't statistically significant.
