Abstract

This study is related with the factors that effect the load capacity of cement-grouted rockbolts which have been widely used in mining and tunnelling applications. For this aim, approximately 80 rockbolts having different diameter, length and grouting materials were embedded into basalt blocks. Relationships between bolt length - bolt load capacity, bolt bond area - bolt load capacity, and grout strength - bolt load capacity were investigated in the laboratory. According to the test results; increasing bolt length and/or bonded area of the bolt, shear strength of the grout material and curing time increase the bolt load capacity.
