Abstract

AIM: Determination of effectivty of Leak Point Preasure (LPP) and Maximal Urethral Closure Presure (MUCP) in type III urethra diagnosis. MATERIAL AND METHOD: Two hundred twenty patients who have urinary incontinance applied to Süleymaniye Maternity Hospital on March 12, 1997 to March 27, 1998 are examined by urodinamic studies. LPP and MUCP values were measured. Cystourethroscopic examination was performed all the patients except who have detrusor instability and mixt incontinance. RESULTS: Cystourethroscopic examination was performed to 97 patients and 16 have type III urethra. Cystourethroscopic examination accept as gold standart. According to gold standart LPP's sensitivity, specifity , positive predictive value and negative predictive value found 87,5%, 100%, 100% and 97.5%. MUCP's values were 56.25%, 100%, 100% and 92%. CONCLUSION: LPP has more sensitive and spesific than MUCP for detrmination of type III urethra.
