Abstract

Urinary diversion operations might be performed for congenital abnormalities during childhood and secondary to oncologic surgery in the postmenopausal years. Pregnancies with a history of urinary diversion surgery might be complicated by recurrent infections, metabolic abnormalities such as acidosis, and other complications like hydronephrosis. Here, we present a 28-year-old pregnant woman with bilateral ureterosigmoidostomy and unilateral renal dysfunction. In these patients serum electrolytes, urea, creatinin, C-reactive protein, leukocyte and blood gas analysis valves are important for follow-up. Ultrasonography should be used for maternal renal evaluation.
