A three year old boy was diagnosed as Guillain Barre Syndrome (GBS) owing to the clinical course, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) examination and electrophysiologic findings. Semlogic tests were applied to the patient to investigate the etiologic agent. And mumps IgM antibodies were found positive in sera and CSF. Eventhough the absence of the other findings of intracranial hypertension symptom, 'sunken eyes view' was detected and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) displayed hydrocephalus. Aventiculoperitoneal shunt was inserted to the patient. On the follow up controls. hydrocenphalus was not detected and the patient's neurological examination was completely normal.

Üç yaşında bir erkek hastada klinik beyin omurilik sıvısı (BOS) ve elektofizyolojik bulgularla Guillain Barre Sendromu (CBS) tanısı kondu. Etyolojiye yönelik olarak yapılan serolojik testlerde kan ve BOS' da Kabakulak IgM pozitifliği saptandı. Diğer intrakranial basınç artışı bulgularının yokluğuna karşın gözlerde 'batan güneş manzarası' ortaya çıktı. MRI 'da hidrosefali saptandı ve ventriküloperitoneal sant uygulandı. Bu tedavi ile hastanın hidrosefalisi düzeldi ve nörolojik muayenesi normale döndü.
