Abstract

Most of drugs have potential side effects. Most of them are related to the administration route of the drugs. Amphotericin B is one of the most important antifungal drug to treat the fungal infections in neutropenic patients. Nephrotoxicity of this drug is well-documanted phenomenon. Fever, chills and other acute allergic reactions can be seen in a number of patients and can be treated by antihistaminics. In this report, we present a case with hypothermia due to infusion of amphotericin B. Also, the possible mechanisms underlying hypothermia caused by amphotericin B is discussed in this article.
