Abstract

Fifteen female adult dogs were used in this study. After the general anaesthesia which were induced by Xylazine HCI - Ketamin HCI combination, the experimental laparotomy was formed by the skin incisions on the left and right fossa para-lumbalis. Skin incisions on the left fossa paralumbalis was closed by silk and the skin incisions on the right side was closed by Enbucrilate, an inorganic tissue adhesive, without suturing. After ten days, the biopsy material taken from the incision area was examined histologically by performing euthanasia. Clinical and histological examinations showed that this method was a practical choice in the closing of small skin incisions. Thus, the complications due to the suture material and methods and the time of the removal of the suture were prevented by this application.
