Abstract

The purpose of this study is to determine the preservice teachers’ expectations of the university professors’ use of information technologies. The study was conducted with 300 preservice teachers in public and private universities by using survey research method. Data was collected by using “Preference Survey of Using Technology” developed by Apperson, Laws & Scepansky (2006) and adapted to Turkish by the authors of the present study. After the adaptation process the reliability coefficient was found as 0.89. In general, preservice teachers’ indicated positive opinions to the items in the survey. According to average point of the items that positive opinions were indicated, it is assumed that university professors are expected to use computer and information technologies during the lecture. Furthermore, private university students’ average points were higher than public university students. In sum, all of the preservice teachers who were enrolled in both universities stated that instructors should use technology in their courses

Her iki üniversitedeki öğretmen adaylarının tamamı, öğretim elemanlarının derslerinde bilgi teknolojisini kullanmaları gerektiği görüşünde birleştikleri sonucuna varılmıştır
