Abstract

Amine precursor uptake and decarboxylation (APUD) system's kulchitsky cells that are known as dispersed neuroendocrine system is origin of the neuroendocrine tumors. Neuroendocrine tumors are classified as typical carsinoid tumors, atypical carsinoid tumors and small cell neuroendocrine tumors. This article defines each type of neuroendocrine tumors including their clinical features and histopatologic appearances. Head and neck region is rare place for these tumors. At head and neck location these tumors are reported that arising from paranazal sinuses, larynx, middle ear, esophagus and salivary glands by now. We discussed three neuruendocrine tumor cases that are placed of origin from larynx.etmoid sinuses, parotid gland with looking after literature.

Özet

Nöroendokrin tümörlerin; dağınık nöroendokrin sistem olarakta bilinen amine precursor uptake and decarboxylation (APUD) sisteminin Kulchitsky hücrelerinden kaynağını aldığı düşünülmektedir.
