Abstract

Leiomyoma of the ciliary body Leiomyoma is a benign smooth muscle tumor. It arises mostly from ciliary body in ocular structures. A ciliary body mass showing transillumination was detected in a 30-year-old woman who admitted to our clinic because of decrease in her vision. Leiomyoma of the ciliary body was diagnosed after histopathological and immunohistochemical evaluation of the incisional biopsy specimen. Leiomyoma mass was removed by internal resection and vitrectomy surgery.

Özet

Leiomiyom, iyi huylu düz kas tümörüdür. Göz yapıları içinde, çoğunlukla siliyer cisimde görülür. Görme azalması nedeniyle kliniğimize başvuran 30 yaşındaki kadın hastada, transillüminasyon gösteren siliyer cisim kitlesi saptandı. İnsizyonel biyopsi materyalinin histopatolojik ve immünohistokimyasal incelemesi sonucunda, siliyer cisim leiomiyomu tanısı kondu. Leiomiyom kitlesi, internal rezeksiyon ve vitrektomi ameliyatı uygulanarak çıkarıldı.
