Abstract

The general need in pharmaceutical areas is to know the absorption properties of the drugs. The prediction of pharmacokinetic parameters of the drugs will also give more information about the chemicals and it can allow us to design more effective form of it without doing in vivo experiments. The results of our initial work showed that pharmacokinetic parameters of compounds could be predicted using their molecular structure and properties. The log octanol/water partition coefficient (log Koct) and solubility ($\delta$) parameters ($\Delta$H: Sum of the energy of mixing of substituents constant, $\Delta$v: Sum of the molar volume of the substituents constants), molecular weight (MW) and dipole moments (dpm) were used as predictors. The statistical analyses were performed and quite good correlations were found. The dpm and $\Delta$H were found quite capable parameters to predict kd values of the compounds. The log Koct and $\Delta$v values were also found quite capable parameters to predict the bioavailability values of the compounds and an equation was established.
