Abstract

Oropharyngeal aspiration is defined as small volume aspiration of fluids, food particles or oral secretions below the level of the true vocal folds. Respiratory signs and consequences of oropharyngeal aspiration include apnea, tachypnea, chronic cough, noisy breat- hing, and recurrent wheeze. Oropharyngeal aspiration is associated with increased likelihood of pneumonia and other respiratory sequelae in children with neurological problems (cerebral palsy, congenital muscle diseases vs). Oropharyngeal aspiration is repor- tedly the most common cause of recurrent pneumonia in childhood. We only wanted to share presenting with a noisy clinical picture child aspiration pneumonia case because of the wrong feeding position
