Mature cystic teratoma is the most common type of ovarian teratomas and also most frequent tumor originating from germ cells. Malignant transformation is an uncomon complication of mature cystic teratoma. It occurs in approximately %1-2 of cases. Any of the tissues present in a mature cystic teratoma may undergo malignant transformation. We presented a 71-year-old woman who has undergone malignant transformation of the mature cystic teratoma that area in the right ovary and we reviewed the literature concerning this case.

Matür kistik teratom, over teratomlarının en sık olanıdır ve aynı zamanda germ hücrelerinden en sık köken alan tümördür. Malign değişim matür kistik teratomların alışılmadık bir komplikasyonudur. Olguların %1-2'sinde görülür. Matür kistik teratomda bulunan dokulardan herhangi bir malign değişim gösterebilir.
