Abstract

C-erbB-2 gene is frequently over expressed in human breast cancer. Many studies have demonstrated that C-erbB-2 over expression is an independent negative prognostic factor in node-positive breast cancer patients. In this study, C-erbB-2 expression and its relationship with other prognostic factors were investigated in 134 breast cancer patients. The significant relationship between C-erbB-2 and axillary lymph nodes involvement, ER, PR, P53, age, tumor size, metastasis status could not be shown. But statically significant relationship between C-erbB2 over expression and lymph node GATO formation is shown. In a result, C-erbB2 over expression could be a prognostic factor in breast cancer.
