Abstract

Esophageal injury is a serious surgical complication. Delayed diagnosis can cause mediastinal and pleural infection, sepsis and death. We report an unusual case, nine years after scoliosis surgery, presenting with dysphagia that resulted from external compression and penetration of the metal material used in the operation.
