Abstract

Objective: Clinical findings of 30-year old female admitting with the complaint of blurred vision in her right eye and headache were evaluated. Case report: Her visual acuities were normal on both eyes. She presented enlarged pupil, accommodation deficit and tonic response to near stimuli of the pupil in her right eye. In biomicroscopy, vermiform movements of the iris were observed. While her left eye had direct and indirect pupillary light reflexes, her right eye did not have these reflexes. Cranial magnetic resonance imaging and neurological examination of the case were normal. In infrared computed pupillometric examination her right pupil diameter was greater than the other healthy eye at different light amplitudes. After the 0.125% pilocarpin drop application, her right eye showed myotic response due to supersensitivity, but her left eye did not. These findings were observed objectively via infrared computed pupillometry. Conclusion: Pupillometric analysis at different light amplitudes may be useful to establish of the Adie’s tonic pupil diagnosis.
