Abstract

Laryngospasm is a reflex closure of the upper respiratory tract as a result of glottic muscle spasm. The obstruction of upper respiratory tractus following general anesthesia often depends on laryngospasm. Laryngospasm is more often in pediatric patients. In this review, risk factors and prevention of laryngospasm in pediatric anesthesia practice and treatment algorithm of laryngospasm will be discussed.
