Abstract
The violence in football fields is getting more and more and among the reasons of this is also getting provocated. Fans are provocated because of their identification with their team and being influenced by their team. In this study on the investigations of the reasons of provocation has been carried out over 157 Gençlerbirli¤i fans that watched the football match played in Ankara in the second period of 2001-2002 Turkish Super League. The questionnaire with 23 questions was explained and interpreted by means of percented distribution and frequency methods. As a result, it was seen that the most important factor of the provocation was the referee.

Futbol sahalarında meydana gelen şiddet olayları gittikçe artış göstermektedir ve bunun birçok nedenleri arasında tahrik olmak da vardır. Özdeşleşme ve etkilenme nedenleriyle taraftarlar tahrik olmaktadırlar. Tahrik olma nedenlerinin incelendiği bu çalışma 2001- 2002 sezonu Süper Lig ikinci devresinde Ankara’da oynanan Gençlerbirliği - Gaziantep Spor Kulüplerinin futbol takımları maçını izleyen 157 Gençlerbirliği taraftarı üzerinde yapılmıştır. Uygulanan 23 soruluk anket, yüzdesel dağılım ve frekans gösterme yoluyla açıklanıp yorumlanmıştır. Taraftarları tahrik eden en önemli etkenin hakem olduğu ortaya çıkmıştır
