Abstract

The aim of the study was to evaluate the physical and physiological profiles of elite football players of the first, second and third division according to positions. Age, height, weight, body fat, MaxVO2, standing long jump, and speed (30 m sprint) parameters of 63 elite soccer players were measured. Parameters were compared according to team positions by One Way ANOVA. Scheffe Test was used to find out the difference between the groups and Pearson Correlation Test for the relations between the variables. The following means were observed: age 25,15±3,10 years; percent body fat % 11,83±1,63; weight 72,82±5,02 kg; height 179,17±4,61 cm; 30 m sprint, 4,28±0,16 sec; standing long jump 2,36±0,92 m; MaxVO2 54,34±2,62 ml/kg/min. There were significant correlations between several dependent variables and significant differences between team positions for some variables. Our expectation is that these research results can be helpful for assessment of soccer player profiles.
