The exotic species Ricania japonica Melichar (Hemiptera: Ricaniidae), Far East origin and was first determined in Duzce/Akcakoca in 2017. Because the region has climate and host plants suitable for the spread of the pest, the pest is likely to make an epidemic. In order to prevent the increasing spread of pest, some basic studies on the pest control were needed. Since polyphag is a pest, it is primarily aimed determining the host plants of the pest in this study. For this purpose, surveys were carried out in 2018 in agricultural areas with non-periodic field trips in the province of Duzce, Akcakoca. The plants that feed on the pests were recorded as hosts. The nymphs of the pest were found in May, and the adults in July. It has been observed that nymphs and adults of the pest feed on vegetable, fruit and ornamental plants. As host plants; pepper, bean, tomato, watermelon, vine, apple, mulberry, wild blackberry, hortensia and roses from ornamental plants are determined.

Egzotik türlerden olan Ricania japonica Melichar (Hemiptera: Ricaniidae) Uzak Doğu orjinlidir ve 2017 yılında Düzce/Akçakoca’da ilk kez varlığı tespit edilmiştir. Bölge zararlının yayılışına uygun iklim ve konukçu bitkilerine sahip olduğu için epidemi yapma olasılığı yüksek bir zararlıdır. Zararlının giderek artan yayılışının önüne geçebilmek için mücadelesine esas bazı temel çalışmalara gereksinim duyulmuştur. Polifag bir zararlı olduğu için öncelikle zararlının konukçu bitkilerinin belirlenmesi bu çalışmada amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla Düzce ili Akçakoca ilçesinde periyodik olmayan arazi çıkışları ile tarım alanlarında 2018 yılında sürvey yapılmıştır. Zararlının üzerinde beslendiği tespit edilen bitkiler konukçusu olarak kaydedilmiştir. Mayıs ayında zararlının nimf dönemleri, temmuz ayında ise erginleri saptanmıştır. Zararlının nimf ve erginlerinin sebze, meyve ve süs bitkilerinde beslendiği tespit edilmiştir. Konukçu bitkileri olarak; biber, fasulye, domates, karpuz, asma, elma, dut, yabani böğürtlen, süs bitkilerinden ortanca ve gül belirlenmiştir.
