Abstract

Women’s entrepreneurship holds significant importance for economic development and gender equality; however, female entrepreneurs in Turkey face various obstacles. Among these, one of the most critical is the difficulty in accessing finance. This review study aims to analyze the structural, cultural, and institutional barriers encountered by women entrepreneurs in accessing financial resources in Turkey. The relevant literature, data from the Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), and institutional reports were systematically reviewed. The findings show that factors such as insufficient collateral in traditional credit systems, gender-based biases, and the inadequacy of microcredit programs are the main financial barriers to women's entrepreneurship. The study offers policy recommendations, including the improvement of collateral requirements, the development of women-focused financing models, and the promotion of financial literacy training, as potential solutions to overcome these barriers.
