Abstract

In recent years, herbal medicines have started to be preferred more in the treatment of various diseases and symptoms. Curcuma longa L. is a plant that has been used for its therapeutic effects for many years. Curcumin, is one of the main components of this plant. Curcumin, a natural polyphenol, is widely known for its medicinal properties. It has been used in traditional medicine to treat a variety of ailments for centuries. Curcumin has been found to possess numerous pharmacological properties, such as anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, anticancer, and antimicrobial activities. However, the effects of curcumin can be influenced by various factors, including its quality. Therefore, quality control studies of curcumin are essential to ensure its safety and efficacy. This research paper aims to review the effects of curcumin and quality control studies conducted on it.
