Abstract

Objective: Vitamin D is an important hormone for growth, development and a healthy skeletal structure that regulates the metabolism of calcium and phosphorus in the body. Vitamin D deficiency has been reported to play a role in the formation of many diseases other than the effects of bone tissue. In this study, it was aimed to retrospectively evaluate the distribution of vitamin D levels in children in Erzincan according to age, sex, age and sea-son. Material and Method: In our study, 2346 outcomes were included in our hospital pediatric polyclinic between January 2013 and December 2017, and vitamin D measurements were performed. Patients were divided into groups according to age, sex and 25 (OH) D vitamine levels according to the Stage 6 criteria. Results: 8,36% of the results were below 10 ng / ml and in the group of severe deficiency, 42,33% were below 20 ng / ml and mild to moderate deficiency and 27,27% ng / ml were in the insufficiency group. It was observed that males had a higher vitamin D level than females, and as the age progressed, the levels of vitamin D were decreased and the highest level of vitamin D was found in summer and the lowest level of vitamin D was found in winter. Conclusion: Vitamin D is insufficient in all children except children under two years of age. Therefore, precautions should be taken to ensure adequa-te vitamin D levels in this age group. Vitamin D levels in patients vary depending on the seasons gender and age, has been reached (p <0.001).
