Abstract

Primary benign tumors of the fallopian tube are rare. Lipoma is a very common benign tumor that occurs throughout the body but it is extremely rare in the fallopian tube. Since deeply located lipomatous tumors are usually liposarcoma, their differential diagnosis should be made carefully. Lipoma of the fallopian tube is usually seen incidentally after hysterectomy due to other diseases. Therefore, the tube and surrounding fatty tissue should be carefully examined. In this article, a 45-year-old female patient who was admitted to the emergency department with acute abdomen, was operated due to a mass of 25 cm in the ovary, but was found to have torsioned ovarian tissue and fallopian tube lipoma as a result of histopathological examination of the biopsy material.
