Abstract
Aim: This study aimed to examine the relationship between moral anger and multidimensional leadership orientations among students in a Faculty of Sports Sciences and to determine whether these variables differed according to various demographic characteristics. Method: The study was conducted using a relational and comparative survey design and included 290 students enrolled in the Faculty of Sports Sciences at three public universities. Data was collected using the Moral Anger Scale and the Multidimensional Leadership Orientations Scale. Independent samples t-tests, one-way analysis of variance, and Pearson correlation analysis were used for data analysis. Results: A positive and significant relationship was found between total moral anger and total multidimensional leadership scores. Affective moral anger was positively associated with total leadership and all leadership subdimensions, whereas cognitive moral anger was associated only with charismatic leadership at a low level. Moral anger did not differ significantly according to gender, national athlete status, age, or type of high school graduated from; only cognitive moral anger differed according to income level. Significant differences were also identified in some dimensions of moral anger and leadership according to class level. Leadership orientations differed significantly in some dimensions according to gender, national athlete status, age, and type of high school graduated from. Conclusion: The findings indicate a positive relationship between moral anger and multidimensional leadership orientations, with this relationship being particularly evident in the affective dimension of moral anger. The results suggest that ethical sensitivity and leadership orientations should be considered as interrelated constructs among sports sciences students.
