Abstract
The difficulties experienced by the people who were tried to be guided by the scholars and wise saint in the 13th century Seljuk Anatolia, which was devastated by the Mongol invasion, paved the way for the formation of a certain climate of thought in the society. It is seen that the groups that the Ottoman historian Aşık Paşazade divided into four groups in the Anatolian geography of the period (Gaziyan-ı Rum, Ahiyan-ı Rum, Abdalan-ı Rum, and Bacıyan'ı Rum) had a great influence in this direction. It is possible to state that these groups showed a guiding role to the people in difficult times, inviting them to spiritual direction, and at the same time exhibiting a combative character. The Khorasan saints, who have an important place among the Rum Abdals, have a great role in the descent of Islam to the level of the people, that is, in the synthesis and integration of old beliefs. One of the Khorasan saints, Hacı Bektaş Veli, also became a light to society from Sulucakarahöyük in Anatolia, and for this reason Yunus Emre's path also fell on him. The dilemma Yunus experienced between the world and true love at the beginning evolved into another direction when he saw the truth later. The offer Hacı Bektaş Veli made to Yunus Emre (breath or wheat?) was actually to make him look at the world with a completely different eye and look from the visible world to the invisible world. In this article, the basic element that led Yunus Emre to Hacı Bektaş is presented together with the general appearance of the period in line with the examination of literature and historical sources.
