Abstract
This study, consist of the observations on Peach twig borer (Anarsia lineatella Zell.) of two projects carried out, in 2000-2002 in Malatya and Mut (Mersin) which are the most important apricot production areas of Turkey and it also consists of literature informations about this pest. In this study, definition, some biological properties, type of damage, host plants and distribution of Peach twig borer which are significant criterions for the control of this pest in apricots take place. The pest is the most important insect pest of apricot in Turkey like other apricot grower countries. It has 2-5 generations each year varies due to region. It is determined that first adults are seen in the beginning of April in Mut and beginning of May in Malatya. It is found that the first generation of Peach twig borer does not give damage to early ripenning apricot fruits but is a problem in late season varieties. Besides it is observed that it does not prefer apricot twigs as much as other hosts (ex.: peach, nectarine, almond etc.).

Bu çalışma, 2000-2002 yıllarında ülkemizin en öneml-i kayısı üretim alanlarından, Malatya ve Mut (Mersin) yörelerinde yürütülen farklı iki prqjede;-Şeftali güvesi, Anarsia lineatella Zell. (Lep.: Gelechiidae) üzerinde yapılan gözlem sonuçları ile literatür bilgilerini içermektedir. Çalışmada, Şeftali güvesi'nin kayısılardaki mücadelesine esas olmak üzere; zararlının "tanımı, bazı biyolojik özellikleri, zarar şekli ve konukçuları ile yayılışına ilişkin bilgiler verilmiştir. Şeftali güvesi, diğer kayısı yetiştiren ülkelerde olduğu gibi Türkiye'de de kayısının en önemli zararlısı olup, bölgelere göre değişmekle birlikte yılda 2-5 döl vermektedir. Zararlı erginlerinin ilk olarak Mut yöresinde nisan başında, Malatya yöresinde ise mayıs ayı başında çıkış yaptığı belirlenmiştir. Şeftali güvesi birinci dölünün erkenci kayısı çeşitlerinin meyvelerinde zarar yapmadığı, daha çok geççi çeşitlerde sorun olduğu saptanmıştır. Ayrıca, zararlının kayısı sürgünlerini şeftali, nektarin, badem gibi çok fazla tercih etmediği gözlenmiştir.
