Abstract

This study aims to examine the bibliometric characteristics of articles published in the field of red tourism. 75 articles containing the concept of "red tourism," obtained from the Web of Science database, were analyzed using VOSviewer and Bibliometrix (Biblioshiny) tools. The findings show that the most frequently used keyword in the articles is red tourism, and that Yiping Li, Dallen J. Timothy, Fuyuan Wang, Yijie Zhang, and Huiling Zhou are the researchers who have contributed the most to the field. China stands out in terms of country, and Arizona State University in terms of institution. Furthermore, it was found that the publications conform to Bradford's Law, but under Lotka's Law, the vast majority of researchers have published only one paper. This indicates that scientific productivity in the field of red tourism is limited and that more research is needed. It is believed that this study will contribute to strengthening the theoretical framework of red tourism research. Future studies utilizing different databases could increase the scope and comparability of findings, thus contributing to the literature.

Özet

Bu çalışma, kızıl turizm alanında yayımlanan makalelerin bibliyometrik özelliklerini incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Web of Science veri tabanından elde edilen ve “red tourism” kavramını içeren 75 makale, VOSviewer ve Bibliometrix (Biblioshiny) araçlarıyla analiz edilmiştir. Bulgular, makalelerde en sık kullanılan anahtar kelimenin kızıl turizm olduğunu ve Yiping Li, Dallen J. Timothy, Fuyuan Wang, Yijie Zhang ve Huiling Zhou’nun alana en fazla katkı sağlayan araştırmacılar olduğunu göstermektedir. Ülke bazında Çin, kurum bazında ise Arizona State Üniversitesi öne çıkmaktadır.
