Abstract
The issue of gifted/talented subjects continues to be a topic of increasing importance in the world and in Türkiye in recent years. In this context, this study aims to address the issue of gifted/talented subjects in a sociological context and to draw attention to the importance of this vital issue in sociological research by addressing both the international and Turkish context of the issue. It is also to underline the need for gifted/talented subjects for society - the need felt in social development and progress. Therefore, document analysis, which is one of the qualitative research methods, was preferred in the study and five articles suitable for the subject were selected. The thematic analysis of the selected articles was conducted. As a result, it was observed that there are problems in defining and identifying the concept of giftedness/talented; issues of equality, social class and social benefit continue to be discussed.
Özet
Üstün yetenekli/zekalı özneler konusu son yıllarda Dünya’da ve ülkemizde önemi giderek artan bir konu olmaya devam etmektedir. Bu bağlamda, bu çalışma ile bir taraftan üstün yetenekli/üstün zekalı özneler konusu sosyolojik bir bağlamda ele alınmaya çalışılırken diğer taraftan da konunun hem uluslararası hem de Türkiye’deki bağlamına değinilerek hayati bir öneme sahip olan bu konunun sosyolojik araştırmalarda daha fazla önemsenmesi gerektiğine dikkat çekmek hedeflenmiştir. Aynı zamanda toplum için üstün yetenekli/zekalı öznelere -toplumsal gelişme ve ilerlemede hissedilen gereksinimin- de kalın çizgilerle altını çizmektir. Bundan dolayı çalışmada, nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden biri olan doküman incelemesi tercih edilmiş ve konuya uygun beş makale seçilmiştir. Seçilen makalelerin tematik analizi yapılmıştır. Sonuç olarak, üstün yetenekli/zekalı kavramının tanımlanması ve tanılaması konusunda sorunlar olduğu; eşitlik, sosyal sınıf ve toplumsal fayda konularının tartışılmaya devam ettiği görülmüştür.
