Abstract

Sonata form is one of the most important forms of tonal music. Like other musical forms, it has changed and developed over time. The classical sonata form consists of "Exposition, Development, Re-exposition" sections. Apart from this structure, sonatas consisting of "Exposition and Re-exposition" without a development section have an important place in the literature. In this study, F. Schubert's approach to the sonata form without development in the second movement andante con moto of his Piano Trio in E-flat Major Op.100 No:2 was analyzed. When the literature was examined, it was determined that the works in the classical sonata form structure were introduced and analyzed more. As a result of the examination of the sonata form without development in terms of composers and the determination that the analysis of the works is less common in the literature, the purpose of this study is to examine the second movement andante con moto of F. Schubert's Piano Trio in E-flat Major, Op.100 No:2. This study is a descriptive qualitative study. Data were collected through document analysis. It was also analyzed through descriptive analysis. The document selected for the research is the Breitkopf und Härtel 1886 edition of the trio. In the study; sonata form, piano trio, F. Schubert's creativity and the formal characteristics of the piece were investigated. In the analyzed work; the determination of the form structure of the work was made by formal analysis and all harmonic transitions and connections were revealed by harmonic analysis methods. As a result of the detailed form analysis, it was determined that the relevant part of the work was written in sonata form without development, and as a result of the harmonic analysis, the tonal transitions that would cause this structure to be formed were determined.

Çalışmada; sonat formu, piyanolu trio, F. Schubert’in yaratıcılığı ve ilgili eserin form özellikleri araştırılmıştır. İncelenen eserde; eserin form yapısının tespit edilmesi biçimsel, tüm armonik geçiş ve bağlantılarının ortaya çıkarılması armonik analiz yöntemleriyle yapılmıştır. Gerçekleştirilen detaylı form analizi sonucunda eserin ilgili bölümünün gelişmesiz sonat formunda yazıldığı, yapılan armonik analiz sonucunda bu yapının oluşmasına neden olacak ton geçişleri saptanmıştır.
