Abstract
Aortic dissection (AD) is a critical, high-mortality cardiovascular emergency with an abrupt onset. The diagnosis of this condition is often challenging due to the variability of its clinical findings, and it can be confused with other potentially life-threatening conditions, such as acute myocardial infarction (MI). This case report details the presentation of a 55-year-old female patient who initially presented with chest and back pain. After undergoing an electrocardiogram (ECG) that was indicative of acute inferior (MI), the patient was promptly referred for coronary angiography. During the procedure, the detection of a dissection flap raised suspicion for AD, which was subsequently confirmed via computed tomography angiography (CTA).
