One of the main areas of interest of the Turkish novel is social and political issues in the country. At the forefront of these issues is Türkiye’s democratization journey, which extends over a long and arduous historical process. As is evident from its title, Political Parties of the Republican Period in the Turkish Novel (1923–1960), a book by Gonca Arkon, published in December 2025 in Konya by Palet Publications, addresses the reflection in the Turkish novel of issues related to political parties between 1923 and 1960 during the Republican Period. The work consists of two main sections, determined chronologically: “The Single-Party Period (1923–1946)” and “The Multi-Party Period (1946–1960)”, apart from sections such as the preface, introduction, conclusion, and bibliography. Here, there is an analysis of fifty-one novels related to the subject, selected from twenty-five authors. It can be said that, in terms of its quality and scope, the study will both lay the groundwork for similar thematic studies and serve a guiding function in future studies on the relationship between literature and politics.

Türk romanının temel ilgi alanlarından biri ülkedeki sosyal ve siyasi meselelerdir. Bu meselelerin başında ise Türkiye’nin uzun ve sancılı bir tarihsel sürece yayılan demokratikleşme serüveni gelmektedir. Gonca Arkon’un 2025 yılı Aralık ayında Palet Yayınları tarafından Konya’da yayımlanan Türk Romanında Cumhuriyet Dönemi Siyasi Partileri (1923-1960) adlı kitabı, adından da anlaşılacağı üzere Cumhuriyet Dönemi içerisinde 1923-1960 yılları arasındaki siyasi partiler ile ilgili meselelerin Türk romanındaki yansımasını ele almaktadır. Eser; ön söz, giriş, sonuç ve kaynakça gibi bölümler dışında kronolojik biçimde belirlenmiş “Tek Partili Dönem (1923-1946)” ve “Çok Partili Dönem (1946-1960)” olmak üzere iki ana bölümden meydana gelir. Burada yirmi beş yazara ait konu ile ilgili seçilmiş elli bir romanın incelemesi bulunmaktadır. Çalışmanın nitelik ve kapsam bakımından hem benzer tematik çalışmalara zemin hazırlayacağı hem de edebiyat-siyaset ilişkisi üzerine yapılacak yeni çalışmalarda yol gösterici bir işlev yükleneceği söylenebilir.
