Abstract
Galium species are used for various purposes among the people. We aimed to investigate the antimicrobial and antigenotoxic/genotoxic of H2O and methanol extracts of Galium aparine L. (GV) and Galium verum L. (GA) species. According to the results obtained; It was determined that methanol (ME) and aqueous extracts (AE) of GA and GV exhibited animutagenic activity by suppressing the genotoxic effect of sodium azide (NaN3). In particular, the most effective results were determined at 10 and 20 μg/ml concentrations of GA. Additionally, it has been observed that GA and GV also show antimicrobial activity.
