Abstract

High yield and quality of fruit production is primarily due to the sufficient and healthy formation of flower buds. Negative conditions encountered during the flower bud differentiation affect the flower quality and are caused fluctuations in production. In the study of flowers bud development, microscopic observations was carried out in Izmir location for Kabaaşı, Hacıhaliloğlu, Precoce de Tyrinthe, Şekerpare and Tokaloğlu apricot (Prunus armeniaca L.) cultivars. Microscopic observations of Iğdır cultivar that chilling needs in medium level and not produce regular yield in the Aegean Region was carried out in Izmir and Malatya locations. As a result, it was detected that the flower bud differentiation started in July, different stages was determined at the same time and flowering was recognized in March. It was determined that, flower bud development of Iğdır variety that shows yield fluctuations especially in Izmir conditions, is normal in both locations, and starts in Malatya ecology earlier.
