Abstract

The aim of this study is to identify the most suitable renewable energy sources for the Alanya region. In the study, the Spherical Fuzzy AHP method has been used for the weighting of the criteria used in the selection of the energy sources and the TOPSIS method has been used to make the final ranking. Within the framework of the study, four renewable energy alternatives were evaluated: solar energy, wind energy, hydroelectric energy and biomass energy. These alternatives were analysed in four main dimensions: the economic performance, the technical performance, the environmental impact and the social impact. The Spherical Fuzzy AHP method was used to determine the importance levels of the criteria, and then the TOPSIS method was used to rank the energy alternatives according to their potential performance. According to the results, solar energy was identified as the renewable energy source with the highest potential. This is followed by wind energy, hydroelectric energy and biomass energy. These results provide important information for evaluating the renewable energy potential of Alanya Region.
