Abstract

The aim of this study was to measure technostress levels in healthcare workers working in public institutions and to evaluate the impact of technostress levels on change fatigue. The study also examined whether technostress and change fatigue levels among healthcare workers varied according to socio-demographic variables. The study sample consisted of 199 healthcare workers working public institutions in Elbistan on specific dates and who agreed to participate in the study. Independent samples t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation test, and regression analyses were used in data analysis. The results revealed that healthcare workers had moderate levels of both technostress and change fatigue. It was concluded that technostress had a significant positive effect on change fatigue. In terms of socio-demographic factors, it was found that male and older workers perceived higher levels of techno-stress. Similarly, when considering change fatigue, male and shift workers reported higher levels of change fatigue. Based on these results, in-house training programs can be designed to raise awareness and reduce the perception of technostress and prevent its negative impact on healthcare workers. Furthermore, the development of easier and more understandable interfaces can be targeted to reduce the burden of technology.
