Abstract

The aim of this study was to determine the responses of four different miniature rose cultivars (Rosa spp., cv. Mandarin, Orange Juwel, Zwergen Fee 09 and Zwerkönig 78) to water stress conditions when exposed to four different irrigation levels (100%, 75%, 50%, 25%) using leaf pressure sensors. The research was conducted at Çanakkale Onsekiz Mart University, Faculty of Agriculture, Plant Stress Monitoring and Thermography Laboratory (COSMOTLAB) in 2020-2021. The experiment was carried out under controlled conditions in laboratory and the photoperiod was 16/8 hours, temperature was 23±1 ºC and relative humidity was 40±5%. It was found that leaf pressures varied according to the irrigation subjects applied to miniature rose varieties. Especially in Zwergen Fee 09, the differences in leaf pressure values before and after irrigation were found to be significant at all irrigation levels. This suggests that Zwergen Fee 09 may be a potential indicator for determining irrigation timing using leaf pressure graphs. Keywords: Rose, water Stress, turgor pressure
