Abstract
This quantitative study, focusing on the members of the Chamber of Architects in Trabzon, their genders and their graduated schools, covered the years between 1963 when its first member was enrolled and 2014 that was the historical upper limit of the thesis. The study aimed at creating a database for the architectural ethos of Trabzon. In this study, quantitative analysis was used in quantitative review of data while qualitative analysis was used to correlate the quantitative data with the related literature. The data was analyzed and interpreted in terms of the political, social and financial setting of the period. As a result of the study, it was demonstrated that the years 1972, 1993 and 2010 heralded considerable elements regarding the architectural ethos of Trabzon in terms of the gender perception of the profession and the sense of belonging to the city. Trabzon Mimarlar Odası üye sayıları, cinsiyetleri ve mezun oldukları okullar üzerinden kantitatif bir değerlendirmenin yapıldığı bu çalışma, ilk üyenin kayıt yaptırdığı 1963 yılı itibariyle başlayıp tez çalışmasının tarihsel üst sınırı olan 2014 yılı ile sonlandırılmıştır. Çalışmanın amacı, Trabzon kenti mimarlık ortamı için bir veri altlığı oluşturulmasıdır. Çalışmada, verilerin niceliksel dökümü sürecinde kantitatif analiz, literatür verilerinin sayısal verilerle ilişkilendirilmesi bölümünde ise kalitatif analiz yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen veriler, dönemin siyasi, toplumsal, ekonomik ortamı doğrultusunda incelenmiş ve yorumlanmıştır. Sonuç olarak, Trabzon mimarlık ortamı için, 1972, 1993 ve 2010 yıllarının dönüm noktalarını oluşturduğu, söz konusu yılların serbest mimarlık ortamı, mesleğe dair cinsiyet algısı ve kente duyulan aidiyet bağlamında önemli referanslar sunduğu görülmüştür. Çalışma, Trabzon kenti mimarlık mesleği tarihi için 50 yıllık bir süreci, hem Türkiye hem de Trabzon mimarlık ortamı ve koşulları bağlamında okuması ve değerlendirmesinin yanında kente dair önemli bir niceliksel verinin dökümünü oluşturması bakımından önem taşımaktadır.
