Abstract

Purpose: The purpose of this study is to identify the factors influencing producers' awareness of the "Agricultural Production Planning and New Support Model" in the Kazova and Artova regions of Tokat Province. Design/Methodology/Approach: The data for this study were obtained from a face-to-face survey conducted in November 2024 with a total of 233 producers. A binary logistic regression model was used to identify the factors influencing producers' awareness of the Agricultural Production Planning and New Support Model. Findings: It was found that 80.7% of producers were unaware of the new support model covering the 2025-2027 period. According to the analysis results, it was found that the districts where producers are located, support income, the number of large livestock, and the agricultural income level of the farms have a statistically significant effect on the likelihood of being aware of the new support model. It was determined that producers with higher support income in the previous year were more likely to be aware of the new support system. It was concluded that awareness of the new support model varies by district. It was found that producers in the low-income group were less likely to be aware of the new support model compared to those in the high-income group. Additionally, a negative relationship was identified between the number of cattle and awareness of crop production support programs. Originality/Value: This study is one of the pioneering research efforts examining the first-year impacts at the producer level of Turkey’s “Agricultural Production Planning and New Support Model” for the years 2025-2027. The comparative analysis of two regions with distinct production patterns is significant in highlighting regional variations in awareness regarding agricultural production planning. It is anticipated that the findings will contribute to the development of extension and information dissemination policies for production planning, taking regional differences into account.
