Abstract
E-learning has many advantages in the field of foreign language learning in our day. While these advantages are in demand, those who provide this service are also aiming at raising interaction level of users and developing elearning environment so as to improve efficiency. In this study, learning management system used in Gazi University Distance Education Language School is analyzed in terms of principles of the web site usability. With this analysis, the usability of the site is assessed as a mid- level by taking users‟ views into consideration in accordance with the scale used and in order to improve the site, some suggestions are offered.
Özet
E-Öğrenme günümüzde özellikle dil eğitimi alanında önemli avantajlar sağlamaktadır. Bu avantajlar beraberinde talebi getirirken bu hizmeti sunanlarda eğitim verimliliğini arttırmak adına e-öğrenme ortamlarının gelişmesini ve kullanıcı etkileşiminin artırılmasını sağlamayı hedeflemektedir. Bu çalışmada uzaktan eğitim sistemi ile eğitim veren Gazi Üniversitesi İngilizce Dil Okulu tarafından kullanılan öğrenme yönetim sistemi web siteleri kullanılabilirlik ilkeleri göz önünde bulundurularak incelenmiştir. Bu inceleme ile temel alınan ölçek doğrultusunda kıyaslanarak sitenin kullanılabilirliğinin kullanıcı görüşleri neticesinde orta düzeyde olduğu değerlendirilmiş ve sistemin gelişimine katkıda bulanabilmek adına öneriler getirilmiştir.
