Abstract

The software industry has reached an important point for all industries in recent years due to its contributions to businesses, technological development and young employment. Especially in developing countries such as Turkey, the need for the support of software companies is increasing in order to be strong in the global competitive environment. In this study, a comparative performance evaluation of the software industry with Turkey's average and NUTS Level I average was made using financial data between 2018-2022. The CRITIC method (Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation), an objective method, was used to weight performance criteria, and the MABAC method (The Multi-Attributive Border Approximation Area Comparison) was used to rank performance by years. The findings showed that the software industry performance in NUTS Level I regions was generally high in 2020 and lower in 2019. According to Turkey average results, the best performance occurred in 2020 and the weakest performance occurred in 2018.

Özet

Yazılım sektörü işletmelere, teknolojik gelişmeye ve genç istihdama olan katkılarından dolayı son yıllarda tüm endüstriler için önemli bir noktaya gelmiştir. Özellikle Türkiye gibi gelişmekte olan ülkelerde, küresel rekabet ortamında güçlü olmak için yazılım firmalarının desteğine olan ihtiyaç giderek artmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, 2018-2022 yılları arasındaki finansal veriler kullanılarak yazılım sektörünün Türkiye ortalaması ve İBBS Düzey I ortalaması ile karşılaştırmalı bir performans değerlendirmesi yapılmıştır. Performans ölçütlerinin ağırlıklandırılması için objektif bir metot olan CRITIC yöntemi (Criteria Importance Through Intercriteria Correlation), yıllara göre performans sıralaması için ise MABAC yöntemi (The Multi-Attributive Border Approximation Area Comparison) kullanılmıştır. Elde edilen bulgular, İBBS Düzey I bölgelerinde yazılım sektörü performansının genel olarak 2020 yılında yüksek, 2019 yılında ise daha düşük olduğunu göstermiştir. Türkiye ortalaması sonuçlarına göre de en iyi performans 2020 yılında, en zayıf performans 2018 yılında gerçekleşmiştir.
