Abstract

Freezing and storage of semen and embryos provided protection and easily transportation of genetic material. Thus, high-quality genetic material can be transported anywhere in the world. However, liquid nitrogen storage techniques have some risks such as contamination. In this review, microbial contamination risks in the cryopreservation techniques with liquid nitrogen were mentioned and suggested some solutions

Özet

Spermanın ve embriyonun dondurularak saklanabilmesi, genetik materyalin korunması ve kolaylıkla nakledilmesine olanak vermiştir. Böylelikle yüksek kaliteli genetik materyal dünyanın her yerine taşınabilmektedir. Bununla birlikte, sıvı azot kullanılarak yapılan saklama teknikleri kontaminasyon gibi bazı riskler de taşımaktadır. Bu derleme de, sıvı azot kullanılarak yapılan kryopreservasyon işlemlerinde mikrobiyal kontaminasyon risklerine değinilmekte ve bazı çözüm önerileri getirilmektedir.
