Murat Gülsoy’un 2023 yılında yayımladığı Ressam Vasıf’ın Gizli Aşklar Tarihi adlı romanı sanatsal yaratıcılığa ve sanatçı kimliğinin oluşumuna odaklanarak Vasıf’ın bir sanatçı olarak yetişme evrelerini ele alırken Türkiye’nin yarım asrı aşan sanat tarihini de inceleme imkânı sunar. Zira roman; Türkiye’de modern sanatın gelişim sürecini merkeze aldığından yenilik arayışlarıyla dikkat çeken sanat topluluklarının icraatları, kişisel veya kolektif çabalarla şekillenen sanat mekânlarının çalışmaları, dönemin siyasal ve toplumsal olaylarıyla birlikte anlatılır.
