Abstract

Aim: The relationship between women's perceptions of femininity and their health and self-esteem was investigated in this study. Method: The study sample consisted of 480 women aged 25-50. Data were collected using the Socio-demographic Information Form, Body Image Scale, Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, Perception of Health Scale, Women's Objectification of Women Scale (WOWS). The data obtained in the study were evaluated using Cronbach’s alpha reliability coefficient, Pearson product-moment correlation coefficient, factor analysis, Generalize linear mixed models. Results: Cronbach's alpha for WOWS was found to be 0.86. Health perception and its sub factors, body image and self-esteem were important predictors for the women’s objectification of women. The first effect predictor was body image, self-esteem was last effect predictor. Age, marital status, education level, working status, professional, perceived income level, height, weight, chronic illness, health criticized, body image, health perception, self-esteem as individual affected women’s objectification of women.
