Abstract

39 extremities of 38 patients that were treated and followed up by one of us, with bone and soft tissue tumors, have been examined angiographicaly for surgical staging and vascular mapping prior to operation. Angiography was found to be very valuable for assesing local tumor extension, vascular invasion and assessing the indications of amputation, local resections or rotationplasty. We believe in that the ligation of the main feeders of the tumor prior to resection enabled us to perform a safe surgery and to minimize the blood loss.
