Abstract

Lipoma, the most common non-epithelial benign tumor of the gastrointestinal tract, is rarely seen in the colon. Here, we report a case of ascending colon lipoma in a 55 year-old patient who had abdominal pain and a polypoid mass detected during colonoscopy, obstructing the lumen of the ascending colon The mass was diagnosed as submucosal lipoma on histological examination.
