Abstract
Fabric-based thermoelectric systems have significant potential for low-temperature thermoelectric systems used to charge electronics used in wearable technologies. Prior research have been limited to commercial aqueous solutions of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxy-thiophene):polystyrenesulfonate. Unlike other studies, in this study, 100% cotton fabric was immersed in semiconductor ink obtained by adding dimethyl sulfoxide and polyethylene glycol to PEDOT: PSS at different concentrations (1%, 3%, 5%) and the thermoelectric performance of the material was evaluated. In materials containing both DMSO and PEG, seebeck coefficient, power factor and electrical conductivity values increased as the PEDOT: PSS ratio increased. The highest electrical voltage of 315.31 µV was obtained from cotton fabrics with thermoelectric properties. These results have shown that thermoelectric textile applications have high potential to satisfy wearable technology and implanted medical devices' power needs.
