Abstract
Storytelling is a narrative tradition as old as humanity, and it has changed with technological developments. It is feasible to think about cartoons as a type of story since they can not be examined in isolation from their scenario. For this reason, they should be handled with an empowerment approach. In this context, the aim of the research is to determine the power layers and dimensions in cartoons. In the research, six cartoons determined by purposeful sampling were analyzed with the content analysis method. The study’s findings revealed that cartoons predominately convey messages about the personal level of power and the form of power that comes from one’s essence.

Hikâye anlatıcılığı, insanlık kadar eski bir anlatım geleneğidir ve teknolojik gelişmeler ile birlikte biçimsel değişikliklere uğramıştır. Çizgi filmlerin senaryolarından bağımsız düşünülemeyecek olması, onları bir hikâye anlatım biçimi olarak ele almayı mümkün kılmaktadır. Çizgi filmlerin verdikleri mesajlar çocukları çeşitli biçimlerde etkilemektedir. Bu nedenle çizgi filmleri güçlendirme yaklaşımı ile ele almak oldukça önemlidir. Bu bağlamda araştırmanın amacı çizgi filmlerdeki güç düzeylerinin ve türlerinin belirlenmesidir. Araştırmada amaçsal örneklem yoluyla belirlenen altı çizgi film, içerik analizi yöntemi ile analiz edilmiştir. Araştırmanın sonucunda çizgi filmlerde en çok kişisel düzey güç ile özden gelen güç türüne ilişkin mesajların verildiği görülmüştür.
