Abstract

In terms of the development of macroeconomic policies and economic growth, some sectors have a bigger advantage than the other sub- and main sectors. The construction sector can be considered as one of the lifeblood of the economy because it contributes to macroeconomy by supporting the growth of the Turkish economy and many other countries, nurturing the sub- sectors. Especially with its contributions to more than 200 sub-sectors, which are in interaction with the economy, it gives direction to the country's economy with its significant activity in employment and similar fields. In this study, the relationship between the construction sector confidence index and the housing sector price index, which are important variables for the construction sector, will be discussed with the importance of the construction sector for the economy. In the application part of the study, the relation between the related factors is examined by applying the Granger Causality Analysis with the monthly data for the period 2011:01-2017-3 for the related indices.

Özet

Makroekonomik politikaların geli ş imi ve ekonomik büyüme açısından bazı sektörlerin di ğ er alt ve ana sektörlere oranla daha büyük önemi bulunmaktadır. İ n ş aat sektörü Türkiye ekonomisi ve di ğ er birçok ülke açısından, ekonomik büyümeyi destekledi ğ i, alt sektörleri besleyerek makro dengeye katkı sa ğ ladı ğ ı için ekonominin can damarlarından biri olarak nitelenebilir. Özellikle etkile ş imde oldu ğ u 200’den fazla alt sektörlere olan katkılarıyla, istihdam ve benzeri alanlardaki önemli etkinli ğ iyle ülke ekonomisine yön vermektedir. Bu çalı ş mada, in ş aat sektörünün ekonomi açısından arz etti ğ i önemden hareketle, in ş aat sektörü için önemli de ğ i ş kenler olan in ş aat sektörü güven endeksi ve konut sektörü fiyat endeksi arasındaki ili ş kiler tartı ş ılacaktır. Çalı ş manın uygulama bölümünde ilgili endeksler için 2011:01-2017-3 dönemi aylık verileri ile Granger Nedensellik Analizi uygulanarak söz konusu faktörler arasındaki ili ş ki incelenmektedir.
