Abstract

\r\n In this study, with respect to the relationship of corruption and tax systems being widespread and important subjects; this relationship was investigated theoretically and empirically, and the investigation method was explained according to the aspects of the study, then a proposed model including this relationship in Turkey are suggested. Indeed, analytical results were investigated. Long and short term relationship between corruption, tax burden, tax income of general budget, the ratio of direct and indirect taxes in GDP and tax audit ratios was determined by using data between 1985 and 2007. In the study, causality relationship between variables was examined; determined empiric results indicate that there is causality relationship at least on one direction, between all variables except tax income of general budget –Corruption.\r\n
